Besides the regular activities, Sahitya Akademi undertakes special projects operated from different centres in India. Ancient, Medieval and Modern Indian Literature projects have been concluded and the anthologies prepared. The Encyclopedia of Indian Literature (EIL) project also has been concluded. The EIL is presently being updated and revised. Two of the major new projects we have launched are the Tribal Oral Literature project at Vadodara (Baroda) in Gujarat and the Archives of Indian Literature in Delhi in addition to the Centres for Translation at four places in India.
